Gestalt Hypnotherapy
First of all, hynposis is a natural state of consciousness that we regularly “flow” into and come out of every day. For example, it happens whenever we drive, cook, read or exercise without consciously noticing time and sometime even space. Some people describe feeling not completely awake, and not a sleep either – it’s a hypnotic state.
I take great care in providing my patients with hypnotherapy services for both vocational and avocational self-improvement, working in accordance with the ethical standards of California. I typically get requests in the areas of peak performance, mental and emotional balancing, dream work and parts therapy.
In a typical hypnotherapy session, I work with my clients to quiet their minds, relax their bodies and deepen their awareness to the level of high suggestibility. It's important to note that hypnotherapy does not mean that clients lose control or consciousness. Rather, they remain with me in a safe state of deep focus, where we can explore and learn together.
We will explore, for example, meaningful events in their lives in order to learn more about behaviors and outdated coping mechanisms, with an eye toward developing a more open-minded, flexible and adaptable self. After the session, clients often have new discoveries about themselves and self-hypnotic skills that they can apply in their daily activities.
Dynamic hypnotherapy provides clients with a range of benefits, with the following list being just a small sample:
• Replacement of bad habits with good ones
• Greater awareness, concentration, motivation and self-confidence
• Improvement in the quality of relationships, personally and professionally
• Reduction in conflict with others
• Identification and avoidance of negative behaviors and loops
• The ability to identify and achieve short and long-term goals
• More rapid and higher quality decision-making
• A feeling of well-being, satisfaction and enthusiasm
